Sterilization of municipal waste for a raw material the production refuse-derived fuel and to protect surface ground waters against biological contamination during transfer storage creates lot problems. This paper evaluates antimicrobial potential non-equilibrium plasma in relation selected groups microorganisms found humid waste. The proposed research is determine whether mixed used alternative fuels can be sterilized effectively using low-temperature generated gliding arc discharge reactor order prevent water health risk working staff. work assesses treatment materials several process variants eliminates or reduces number living presence vegetative bacteria endospores, mold fungi, actinobacteria Escherichia coli, facultative pathogens, i.e., Staphylococcus spp., Salmonella Shigella Enterococcus faecalis Clostridium perfringens tested was microbiologically analyzed. It that differently contributes elimination various kinds analyzed materials. effectiveness sterilization depended mainly on time contact with plasma. results are very promising require further optimize hygienization process.
